Black Woman-Owned FPI Justice Launches ‘ART Sale for a Cause’ to Support Families of Unsolved Homicides

by Gee NY

Regina Romain, founder of FPI Justice for Victims Families, the first African-American and woman-owned forensic investigation nonprofit, is launching an inspiring initiative to provide healing through art for families affected by unsolved homicides.

The organization will host its annual ART Sale for a Cause on November 22, 2024, in Brenham, Texas, featuring works by emerging artists, with 40% of the proceeds benefiting the artists themselves.

Romain, a 3x Emmy award-winning producer, created FPI Justice after solving her own family’s cold case. Since then, her nonprofit has worked tirelessly to address the trauma caused by unsolved murders.

The ART Sale for a Cause is one of the ways the organization gives voice to families often overlooked by the criminal justice system. FPI Justice uses artistic expression to help families heal, sharing their stories and supporting their ongoing pursuit of justice.

Healing Through Art
FPI Justice is dedicated to providing a platform where the stories of families impacted by unsolved homicides can be heard.

At the upcoming ART Sale for a Cause, the organization will showcase art that reflects themes of resilience, healing, and overcoming trauma. Families, artists, and the community will gather for an evening of solidarity, remembrance, and creative expression.

“Every unsolved homicide is more than a statistic—it’s a family’s untold story,” said Romain. “Through this event, we honor those stories, foster healing, and support both the families and the artists who share their journeys.”

Event Details:

  • Date: November 22, 2024
  • Location: 1007 Walter Schwartz Way, Brenham, TX 77833
  • Time: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Mission to Solve Cold Cases
Since its founding, FPI Justice has worked to solve over 140 homicides, some dating back more than 50 years.

The nonprofit’s investigative work spans all 50 states and Canada, with a commitment to giving families the closure they deserve. By combining forensic investigation with community engagement and artistic expression, FPI Justice is making a significant impact on cold case investigations and supporting affected communities.
