Alicia Keys was officially recognized for her legendary influence at the 67th annual Grammy Awards. The 15-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, celebrating her artistic contributions, cultural influence, and dedication to advocacy.
The honor, which recognizes artists who have made significant contributions to music and culture, was a fitting tribute to Keys’ decades-long career and her unwavering commitment to uplifting others through her artistry and activism.
From her groundbreaking debut album, Songs in A Minor, to her powerful anthems like “No One” and “Girl on Fire,” Alicia Keys has consistently pushed the boundaries of music while staying true to her roots. Her soulful voice, masterful piano skills, and heartfelt lyrics have made her a global icon, earning her 15 Grammy Awards and countless accolades.
Queen Latifah presented the award, hailing Keys as a “constant inspiration through her voice, her talent, but most importantly, through her heart.” As she asked the audience to properly congratulate the “Girl on Fire” hitmaker, the iconic rapper commanded, “Make some noise, this girl is on fire!”
Making the moment even more special, Alicia Key’s 10-year-old son, Genesis, joined her on stage. In a speech that resonated with everyone present, she honored women and their extraordinary impact in every space. “This is for all the ladies that know the magic that they bring to the room,” she declared.
Alicia Keys kept honoring the other “superpower, groundbreaking, risk-takers” she has collaborated with throughout her career, including Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez and Universal Music Publishing Group CEO Jody Gerson, who received the 2025 Industry Icon Award at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Event on Saturday night.
“They saw in me what I didn’t see in myself, and we started She Is the Music to open the doors for other women who didn’t get the opportunities or credit they deserve. So this is for all the ladies that know the magic that they bring to the room,” she added.
Alicia Keys also expressed a powerful viewpoint on diversity, equity, and inclusion, appearing to respond to recent political discussions.
“This is not the time to shut down a diversity of voices. We’ve seen on this stage talented, hardworking people from different backgrounds with different points of view, and it changes the game. DEI is not a threat. It’s a gift. The more voices, the more powerful the sound.”
She closed her speech with a rousing message: “This room is unstoppable, powerful—it’s uniqueness at its finest.”
The Dr. Dre Global Impact Award is a well-deserved tribute to a woman who has given so much to music and humanity. As Keys herself might say, there’s truly “No One” like her.
