Kenya Moore’s dramatic run on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has ended. The reality TV star seemingly confirmed her departure from the show on social media following an indefinite suspension earlier this season.
PEOPLE has confirmed that Kenya Moore is leaving the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Kenya Moore has officially left The Real Housewives of Atlanta after 11 seasons on the show after debuting on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ in season 5.
On Tuesday, reports confirmed that the 53-year-old reality TV star will not return for season 16 after being suspended by Bravo in early June. Kenya was sidelined at the time due to alleged drama involving RHOA newcomer Brittany Eady.
The controversy began earlier this year when allegations surfaced of a revenge porn incident involving cast newbie Britt Eady and Kenya Moore. Moore was suspended indefinitely while investigations were conducted following the scandal that rocked the reality television community. Details of the incident have been kept under wraps. Still, sources say it involved the unauthorized sharing of explicit content of Eady with a male organ in her mouth.
Although Moore categorically denied any involvement in the scandal and maintained her innocence throughout the ordeal, producers still suspended her.
According to TMZ, Kenya and production initially mutually agreed that she would take a break from the series with the option to return in the future.
Ultimately, Bravo determined that Kenya’s behavior violated its code of conduct.
People close to the situation told TMZ that Kenya cited safety concerns as part of her disagreement with Bravo. Co-stars Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams have both defended the former pageant queen. Despite their support for Moore, she has been dropped for the rest of the season.
Moore’s exit has elicited mixed reactions from fans. Some are saddened to see a longtime cast member leave, especially under these circumstances. Others believe the show would be better off without the drama Moore frequently brought.
According to insiders at TMZ, Moore is considering legal action “because she’s not happy with how this whole mess unfolded.”
