Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams’ estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, has officially been deported to Nigeria after a wild rollercoaster of legal battles, visa drama, and very public divorce chaos.

Buckle up, Bravo fans, because Porsha Williams’ estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, just got a one-way ticket out of the U.S. and back to Nigeria!

After weeks in ICE detention and a nasty legal battle with Porsha, the 61-year-old entrepreneur has officially been deported.

Simon Guobadia’s luck has taken a turn for the worse since his split from Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams last February, after only 15 months of marriage. Us Weekly reported on Tuesday that Guobadia was released from ICE custody after weeks at a detention center and has been deported to his home country of Nigeria. A close friend and business associate, Tai Savet, confirmed the news, stating that the Nigerian-born businessman boarded a flight to Nigeria just a few days ago and arrived on Monday, June 9.

Despite enduring weeks in Georgia’s Stewart Detention Center near Atlanta, a first-time incarceration for him, Savet claims Simon is in surprisingly good spirits. Guobadia was swept up in a government operation targeting visa overstays specifically. He originally moved to the United States in 1982, then left when his first visa expired. However, after returning, he reportedly overstayed again, and this second violation ultimately led to his detainment and, now, deportation.

Now, his deportation means that Simon will have to video call into the remaining divorce hearings with Porsha. This is just the latest twist in what has been a tense legal battle since their split.

Back in November, Guobadia sued Williams for a hefty $75,000, alleging emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and defamation. According to the lawsuit, Williams “maliciously posted false and defamatory statements about Plaintiff on social media platforms, specifically implying that (Guobadia) suffers from erectile dysfunction.” These claims, he argues, have subjected him to “public ridicule.”

The estranged couple has also been clashing over their shared home, with Porsha seeking exclusive access to it. The judge sided with her, allowing her to live in the house until the divorce proceedings were concluded. These hearings have, unsurprisingly, been repeatedly postponed due to Simon’s detainment.

Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia announced their engagement in May 2021 after a mere one month of dating. This came only a month after he split from his third wife, Falynn Guobadia, who was also a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Porsha and Simon tied the knot in a lavish traditional Nigerian ceremony in November 2022, followed by an American ceremony. The duo even starred together in their own Real Housewives spin-off, Porsha’s Family Matters.

This deportation certainly adds a shocking new chapter to their already dramatic saga. What do you make of this wild turn of events? Let us know in the comments!
