Fortunately, Hurricane Beryl passed through the destination island without any severe damage. And so Sheryl Lee Ralph’s son got his dream wedding!
The Abbott Elementary star’s son, Etienne Maurice, married ABC News journalist Stephanie Wash on Saturday, July 6. The couple got engaged in the summer of 2023 and finally exchanged their “I dos” in front of family and friends in Jamaica last weekend.

The wedding guest list included chef Alexander Smalls, ABC News national correspondent Steve Osunsami, casting director Robi Reed, and Emmy-winning director Nneka Onuorah.
The groom’s wedding party wore custom karibas designed by Naid’s Studios. The suits were inspired by Maurice’s grandmother, Ivy Ralph, who invented the kariba in the 1970s. Meanwhile, the groom wore Waraire Boswell’s double-breasted, off-white linen tuxedo.
The bride wore a shimmering Martina Liana Luxe gown and a pearl-lined veil made by Perry Meek, with tailoring by Kelvin Small. Her gorgeous hair was styled by Natalia Golding of Simply Beautiful Jamaica, and her makeup was by Sue-Ann Gregg. Her father, Ricky Wash, led her down the aisle to the Jesse Powell song “You.”
