The Native Land Podcast released an episode this week that left listeners shaken as Tiffany D. Cross delivered an emotional account of what she described as a dangerous new reality under Donald Trump’s resurgence in Washington, D.C.
Her voice breaking at times, Cross recounted seeing two young girls in school uniforms being followed by four grown men on the street.
The moment, she said, crystallized her fear that public safety and democratic protections are unraveling in real time.
“They were walking home … these four grown men following them—and what society is that?” Cross asked, her frustration turning into outrage.
The former MSNBC host didn’t hold back in pointing out what she saw as political hypocrisy: many of the same voices who loudly claimed to defend children during Trump’s first term, she argued, are complicit in creating an environment where children and families are now unsafe.
Cross grew visibly emotional as she referenced reports of masked men posing as federal immigration officers to abduct women, calling the pattern “beyond comprehension.”
“Miss me with that,” she said. “You don’t really care about kids.”
The podcast episode, described by its hosts as one that “left us all in tears,” reflects more than just outrage. It reflects fear—fear that, as Cross put it, Americans are now living through the collapse of the very protections they assumed would hold.
She ended her remarks with a warning that cut to the core of her emotions: “Whatever invisible line you were waiting for him to cross—he has crossed it.”
Her words have reverberated across social media and triggered a plethora of comments that raise urgent questions about civil liberties, unchecked power, and the legal responsibilities of government to protect its citizens under constitutional law.
“This is my only solace now’s days. Seeing others feeling the exact same emotions I am feeling. Being raw and authentic! It’s so easy to think we are alone in this and that humanity seemingly has left the chat. But we are still here, in numbers. We are not crazy to still feel in a world that constantly tells us not to. We are not alone!! Sending love and healing to all who need it today 🫴🏼❤️🩹✨,” someone commented on Instagram.
