Conservative commentator Candace Owens, known for her polarizing views, is facing renewed criticism following inflammatory comments about Israel.

Owens sparked outrage after posting a video accusing Zionists of being “demon worshipers” and alleging that Israel shields pedophiles, leading to widespread condemnation, even among fellow conservatives.

The backlash over Owens’ anti-Semitic rhetoric has reignited conversations about the leniency shown when she directed her criticism toward Black people.

Many on social media noted that Owens received far less criticism when she disparaged the Black community, including her infamous comments labeling George Floyd a “thug” after his 2020 murder by Minneapolis police.

Responding to the criticism, Owens suggested in a repost that she was “encouraged” to attack Black people, referencing her time at The Daily Wire, where she worked from 2021 until March 2024.

Owens’ departure reportedly stemmed from tensions with co-host Ben Shapiro over her increasingly anti-Semitic positions amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

Owens, who remains a prominent figure with over 5.4 million social media followers, doubled down on her views during an Aug. 17 X Spaces broadcast titled “The Truth About Zionism.”

Her tirade included unsubstantiated claims linking Israel to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and asserting that the country was founded as a haven for pedophiles by the Rothschild family.

Critics accused her of promoting “Nazi propaganda” and spreading baseless conspiracy theories.

Despite facing mounting pressure for her remarks, Owens maintained a defiant stance.

In response to demands for her censorship, she posted, “Demanding I get censored… is sort of, kind of, maybe proving my exact point,” with mocking emojis.

The controversy also highlights the selective outrage over Owens’ past comments about the Black community.

In 2020, Owens organized a GoFundMe campaign that raised $205,000 for an Alabama restaurant owner who disparaged George Floyd. GoFundMe later shut down the fundraiser due to its inflammatory nature, reinforcing Owens’ pattern of targeting the Black community.

As the Israel-Hamas conflict drags on, Owens’ divisive commentary continues to attract attention, drawing both supporters and fierce detractors.

Her latest remarks have intensified calls for her to be deplatformed, while also bringing renewed scrutiny to the roles media figures play in stoking racial and religious tensions.
