Dacoda Jones has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $1 million against her ex-boyfriend, NFL wide receiver Rashee Rice, accusing him of physically abusing her throughout their relationship. The civil suit was filed in Dallas County, Texas, and outlines a pattern of alleged abuse spanning nearly two years.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Dacoda, who shares two children with Rice, claims the alleged abuse occurred between December 2023 and July 2025. In the filing, she describes what she characterizes as repeated acts of physical violence, including grabbing, choking, strangling, pushing, throwing, scratching, hitting, headbutting, and striking her with objects. Jones alleges that many of these incidents took place while she was pregnant with their second child.
The lawsuit references specific dates, including December 2023, February 16, 2024, August 23, 2024, October 24, 2024, and multiple incidents in December 2024. One of the earliest incidents detailed in the complaint allegedly involved strangulation at their Texas home following what she describes as an escalation in violent behavior. The locations cited in the filing include residences in the Victory Park area of Dallas and in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Dacoda states in the lawsuit that she suffered injuries, including bleeding, swelling, bruising, and pain to her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest, and shoulder. The injuries are described in the complaint as severe and permanent. She is seeking damages exceeding $1 million, though no exact figure beyond that threshold is specified in the filing.

Dacoda first went public with allegations of domestic violence in January 2026 through Instagram posts. At the time, she did not initially name Rice but stated she was tired of remaining silent to protect his image and shared photos of alleged injuries. The civil lawsuit followed about a month after those posts.

The timing of the filing comes shortly after Rice shared Valentine’s Day photos confirming his relationship with rapper and influencer Rubi Rose. Images comparing prior family photos of Dacoda Jones with new photos of Rose circulated widely online, drawing significant attention.
Rice has previously faced legal scrutiny related to a 2024 multi-vehicle crash in Dallas that resulted in injuries. In that matter, he was charged, though some issues were resolved through diversion or deferred adjudication.

In response to the current lawsuit, the Kansas City Chiefs released a brief statement saying they are aware of the allegations and remain in communication with the NFL. Rice’s attorney has reportedly referenced an affidavit addressing one specific incident mentioned in the filing, but has not issued a comprehensive public response to the broader allegations. No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the claims outlined in Jones’ lawsuit.
At this stage, the allegations remain part of a civil proceeding and have not been proven in court.
