Porsha Williams is facing a lawsuit from her divorced husband, Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia, concerning claims of defamation related to remarks she reportedly made about his personal life.
In recent court documents, Simon Guobadia alleges that Porsha made “false and defamatory” statements regarding his genitalia on her Instagram Stories.
Porsha allegedly published a series of statements on her Instagram on July 9 concerning erectile dysfunction but without any names.
According to the filing, by implying that he “suffers from erectile dysfunction,” Guobadia claims that the social media post caused “significant harm” to his “personal and professional reputation, subjected him to public ridicule, and inflicted severe emotional distress.”
The lawsuit read, “Mr. Guobadia’s relationship with the Defendant became contentious when the Defendant suddenly started making negative, false and misleading statements about him on social media, using her outsized platform to negatively influence public perception of him.”
“These posts were intentionally crafted to imply that [Guobadia] suffers from this condition, casting him in a negative and humiliating light.
“Williams’ allegations not only targeted [Guobadia’s] physical and emotional integrity but also struck at the core of his reputation as a capable and respected entrepreneur and philanthropist,” the lawsuit claimed.
Guobadia also alleged that “the damage extends into his personal relationships, where he is met with skepticism and pity, and into his professional engagements, where the shadow of these false allegations looms large.”
This new lawsuit comes after a Georgia court awarded temporary exclusive possession of their shared home to Porsha Williams and has provided her the “unrestricted right to film and produce television, film, or social media” within the residence.
The 43-year-old reality star submitted her divorce petition in February, following 15 months of marriage. The couple engaged in a series of filings as they disputed the legitimacy of their prenuptial agreement. Additionally, disagreements arose over the residency of their shared home and Williams’ financial situation due to her contract with NBC Universal.
In September, the Bravo star scored another legal win in her divorce proceedings when a judge ruled in Williams’ favor regarding the former couple’s prenuptial agreement.
According to the legal docs, Guobadia argued that his “Wife’s desire to return to reality television or employment in the future constitutes a non-disclosure of material fact and misrepresentation that renders the Prenuptial Agreement unenforceable.”
Simon Guobadia claimed that Williams agreed to be a stay-at-home mom and wife and forego her own career during their marriage. Still, the court found his claims invalid.
