Danielle Moodie Calls for National Strike Against Trump: ‘We’re Not Voting Our Way Out of Fascism’

by Gee NY

Political commentator and activist Danielle Moodie has posted a passionate video on Instagram warning that the United States is entering what she described as “the next phase of Trump’s takeover of America.”

Moodie, who hosts Woke AF Daily, did not mince words in her assessment of President Donald Trump’s current actions, framing them as a direct threat to democracy and a signal that traditional forms of resistance may no longer be enough.

“We are not voting our way out of fascism,” Moodie declared, urging Americans to consider large-scale civil resistance in the form of a coordinated national strike.

A Warning of Escalating Authoritarianism

In her video, Moodie pointed out what she sees as Trump’s increasingly aggressive tactics amid declining approval ratings. She pointed to Trump’s Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where the president referenced wartime suspension of elections, suggesting a dangerous precedent if the U.S. were to enter a similar conflict.

Moodie argued that such rhetoric reflects a leader acting “from a place of fear” and “scarcity,” noting Trump’s shrinking political base and his reliance on increasingly provocative statements to maintain control.

“The dangerous thing that happens with people like Donald Trump is that when they lose, they become more violent,” she cautioned.

National Strike as a Call to Action

Central to Moodie’s message was her demand for a nationwide work stoppage — a strategy she argued is more powerful than traditional marches or protests in the face of an administration she claims is preparing for violent crackdowns.

She called on major organizations, including unions, civil rights groups, and advocacy organizations, to unite behind a single date and mobilize millions of Americans in an effort to “grind this capitalist monstrous machine to a halt.”

Moodie stressed the need for collective care, urging communities to support one another, especially those who cannot afford to miss work without jeopardizing their livelihoods.

Fear, Resistance, and the Future of Democracy

Moodie’s post comes at a moment of heightened political division in the United States. President Trump is leaning heavily on his populist base while critics accuse him of testing the boundaries of executive power.

Her warning invoked comparisons to historic moments of violent suppression, such as Kent State and Tiananmen Square, suggesting that Americans must adapt their resistance strategies to prevent such tragedies from repeating.

While this is not the first time she has called for a national strike, her latest call is drawing widespread attention and support.

“I deeply appreciate your wisdom and clarity, Danielle!! 🙌🏼👏🏼🌹❤️🙏🏼The guidance you share is EXACTLY what our communities need right now and is comforting to hear when so little is being done. Your call for us to act needs to be amplified statewide. It’s time for BOLD ACTIONS ON OUR PART!! We need to sacrifice now to prevent suffering later!” someone commented.

Similar sentiments inundate the comments section of her post on Instagram.
