Jasmine Crowe-Houston, the visionary Founder and CEO of Goodr, a pioneering startup tackling food waste, has unveiled the latest expansion of her innovative venture in Atlanta, GA.

On May 8, 2024, Crowe-Houston introduced the Goodr Community Market at iVillage @ MLK, showcasing a multifaceted approach to community support and empowerment.

The newly launched market, housed in repurposed shipping containers, boasts a range of services aimed at addressing various needs within the community.

At the heart of the Goodr Community Market is a free grocery store poised to serve 600 families each month for the next two years.

According to a news report by AfroTech, complementing this vital resource are additional amenities, including the Goodr Health Hub, offering free health screenings and services in partnership with Grady Health, American Heart Association of Georgia, and Morehouse College, School of Medicine.

The iVillage Community Resource Hub, in collaboration with Wells Fargo, provides banking services and financial literacy programs, while the Feel Goodr Wellness Room offers meditation sessions.

To further enhance accessibility, Eat Urban Fresh Atlanta will offer prepared meals at a low cost for families. Notably, the market also features a floral shop, beauty salon, and dessert shop, all owned by women entrepreneurs.

Expressing her excitement on social media, Crowe-Houston shared:

“It took us 15 months but we did it! I have a lot of crazy good ideas to help people and I am so blessed when partners and my team join me to bring them to life.”

She also spoke strongly about the positive impact of the new market on Atlanta’s District 10 and reaffirmed Goodr’s commitment to innovation in addressing food insecurity.

The grand opening of the Goodr Community Market drew notable figures, including Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Councilwoman Andrea Boone, and Vice-Chair Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, underscoring the significance of Crowe-Houston’s initiative in the local community.

This latest endeavor marks another milestone in Crowe-Houston’s journey of innovative solutions to societal challenges, following the successful launch of Goodr’s mobile grocery store in 2023, made possible through collaborations with major partners including Amazon, Verizon, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, Wellstar Health System, and Mailchimp.
