Former Disney Channel star Skai Jackson is stepping into an exciting new chapter—motherhood! The 22-year-old actress has revealed that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend.
Congratulations are in order for Skai Jackson. After months of speculation, the former Disney channel star confirmed she is pregnant, with new photos accompanying the announcement.
Skai Jackson sparked pregnancy rumors as she cradled her stomach during an outing in Los Angeles in October. The 22-year-old actress, who rose to fame for her role as Zuri Ross on Jessie and Bunk’d, placed a hand on her belly as she walked to her car after she was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery in August but not charged. She wore a black and grey plaid jacket that covered her midriff, paired with small shorts, a pink bonnet, and matching sliders for a pop of color.
Following the incident, TMZ reported that Jackson told authorities she was “happily engaged and expecting a baby” with her boyfriend.
On October 28, Skai Jackson was seen running errands in Los Angeles wearing shorts, a white top, a gray and white flannel, and a hot pink bonnet. In some of the photos, the 22-year-old was seen holding her belly while on the phone. In other photos, her flannel was slightly open, revealing what appeared to be a baby bump.
“I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life, embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!” Jackson gushed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.
Skai Jackson was previously arrested on August 8 at Universal Studios CityWalk in Los Angeles, California, after an alleged altercation with her boyfriend.
Police responded to a call from the theme park, where security had detained Jackson for allegedly pushing her boyfriend. The sheriff’s department confirmed at the time that no weapons were involved and no identifiable injuries had occurred.
“Skai is relieved that the investigation revealed that this was nothing more than a misunderstanding,” a Jackson representative told PEOPLE at the time of her release.
