A 35-year-old woman from Orlando, Florida, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing shots at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home while the global music star and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, were on the property.

Prosecutors say Ivanna Lisette Ortiz drove to the Beverly Hills-area residence on Sunday afternoon and opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle at around 1:15 p.m. local time. Authorities allege she fired multiple rounds at the property before fleeing the scene. No one was injured during the incident.

At the time of the shooting, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were reportedly inside a trailer on the property, while other family members and staff were inside the main house. According to Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, several people were present both inside the residence and on the surrounding property when the shots were fired.

Ortiz now faces 14 felony counts connected to the incident. Prosecutors have charged her with attempted murder, ten counts of assault on a person with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling. Authorities say the three shooting counts relate to Rihanna’s house, a trailer on the property, and a neighboring home. The assault charges involve Rihanna, family members, two staff members, and individuals at a nearby residence.

Law enforcement officials say Ortiz allegedly approached the front of the property, fired the weapon several times, and then drove away. Her white Tesla was later located about eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where she was taken into custody.

During a court appearance, Ortiz appeared in blue jail clothing with her blond hair styled in braids and communicated with her attorney through a glass divider. Her public defender initially entered a not guilty plea but later withdrew it to postpone the arraignment until March 25. A judge ordered Ortiz held on bail set at $1.875 million. If convicted on all charges, she could face a possible life sentence.

Authorities say investigators are still examining the motive behind the shooting. Police have also reviewed a series of social media posts believed to be connected to Ortiz, including messages that referenced Rihanna.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Hochman addressed the seriousness of the case outside the courtroom, saying that gunfire in residential communities puts lives at risk and will be prosecuted aggressively.

Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, rose to international fame in the 2000s with chart-topping hits including “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella.” The Barbados-born singer shares three children with A$AP Rocky. The rapper was recently cleared in a separate legal case in February after being found not guilty of firing a gun at a former friend.

The investigation into the shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home remains ongoing.
