A viral TikTok video by @mediabuyingbestie is sparking discussions and igniting support for “Black Project 2025,” a grassroots vision that aims to build financial independence and a stronger support network within the Black community by 2025.
The video, which quickly gained traction across social platforms, outlines a framework to unify Black professionals from various fields—doctors, lawyers, engineers, and entrepreneurs—around a shared economic agenda focused on building Black-owned institutions.
In the video, @mediabuyingbestie presents an ambitious plan to establish Black-owned grocery stores, banks, healthcare facilities, and law practices in major cities, supported by a dedicated community investment structure.
She suggests that members contribute monthly to fund initiatives, creating a self-sustaining model where resources flow within the community.
“If we all get into this group, put aside pride, and work toward these common goals, we can create unprecedented wealth and change for our community,” she shared passionately.
She states the need for leaders in positions such as CEO, CMO, and CFO to guide these initiatives and hold regular calls to track project progress.
The strategy also includes a community-wide commitment to buying exclusively from Black-owned brands, from coffee and clothing to personal care items, reducing reliance on large corporations.
With a centralized directory of Black-owned businesses, the community would have a streamlined approach to supporting these enterprises.
While acknowledging past challenges in establishing similar initiatives, @mediabuyingbestie advocates for renewed determination, calling it “one of the most impactful things done in Black history.”
She urged that by putting “pride aside,” Black individuals could build wealth, a new perception and a stronger economic foundation for future generations.
This vision contrasts the political initiative known as Project 2025 led by a coalition of conservative think tanks. Project 2025 sparked controversy for its plan to overhaul federal government agencies and roll back progressive policies if a conservative candidate wins the 2024 election.
Project 2025 aims to reduce federal oversight on issues like environmental regulation, LGBTQ+ rights, and immigration, consolidating power to shift national policies in a more conservative direction. This approach has raised concerns among advocates who worry about the potential dismantling of protections for marginalized communities and significant impacts on civil liberties.
The bold vision of Black Project 2025 has sparked discussions around Black economic unity and self-reliance, since the video was posted on TikTok on Nov. 8, 2024. The idea resonated deeply with viewers who believe in the transformative power of a united approach.
The Black Project 2025 concept is seen by many as a step toward a more empowered and economically resilient Black community by 2025.
