Kenya Moore is passing the crown to the next generation, one classroom at a time. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and trailblazing Miss USA winner stepped into her most cherished role, “Brooklyn’s mommy,” to inspire her 6-year-old daughter’s class with a heartfelt lesson on Black history, beauty, and resilience.
Dressed in a navy blue dress with long sleeves and a flared skirt, Moore visited Brooklyn’s school to share her groundbreaking journey as the second Black woman ever crowned Miss USA in 1993.
“I had the incredible honor of visiting my daughter’s school to present in front of her entire class of bright and curious six-year-olds. I spoke about the meaning of beauty, not just in appearance, but in confidence, kindness, and embracing who we are,” she captioned snippets of the experience on social media.
She told her young audience, recounting how she won Miss Michigan USA at just 22 before making history on the national stage. Her presentation highlighted the legacy of Carole Anne-Marie Gist, the first Black Miss USA (1990), who paved the way for Moore’s triumph.
“Through my own journey of becoming Miss USA, I shared the history of beauty in a way that highlighted representation and, breaking barriers, and changing the global perception of beauty, as I was the second Black woman to win the title in the pageant’s history.”
In the clip Kenya Moore posted on Instagram, she referred to herself as “Brooklyn’s mommy” while speaking to her daughter’s classmates before sharing her story.
“So when I was competing in pageants, one of the one things that we had to be when we were competing was smart. We had to be kind. We had to recognize everyone for all of their accomplishments,” Kenya said in the video.
Brooklyn, who Kenya Moore shares with her ex-husband Marc Daly, looked on proudly as her mother spoke, proving that she is already soaking up the lessons of strength and confidence passed down to her.
“Being part of this Black History and Women’s History presentation was deeply meaningful, as it allowed me to inspire these young minds to dream big and see beauty in themselves and the world around them. I am so proud to be part of a school community that encourages parents to actively shape the education of its students. Moments like these remind me of the power of representation and the importance of sharing our stories,” Kenya wrote in the caption.
Fans of the reality star couldn’t help but admire this touching mother-daughter moment, with many applauding Moore for using her platform to inspire the next generation.
