Whoopi Goldberg Joins Forces with BLKFAM to Revolutionize Black-Owned Streaming

Legendary entertainer and EGOT winner, Whoopi Goldberg, is set to make waves in the streaming industry as she partners with BLKFAM, a groundbreaking Black-owned streaming service, to spearhead the development of diverse and inclusive content.

In a recent press release, Goldberg expressed her excitement about collaborating with BLKFAM to contribute to the creative direction of curated content that celebrates Black culture and reaches broader audiences.

BLKFAM, founded by Larry Adams, a former executive at WarnerMedia, aims to be a platform for inclusive storytelling that amplifies the Black experience.

With Goldberg on board as an equity partner, the streaming service is poised to provide family-friendly content that embraces diversity, equity, inclusion, and empowerment.

The platform boasts a rich library of original series, over 1,000 hours of animation titles, syndicated shows, documentaries, and more.

Adams emphasizes that BLKFAM is committed to curating authentic content primarily from Black storytellers, ensuring that Black parents and children feel holistically represented.

BLKFAM will also feature a wide range of programming, including investigative journalism, news, fitness, wellness, Black history, children and adult animation, sitcoms, reality shows, and music programs.

Additionally, the streaming service has ten new original live-action and animated series in the works, all set to debut within 2024.

Goldberg’s involvement underscores her dedication to the success and growth of BLKFAM, with a focus on leaving a legacy of representative content for future generations.

Partnerships with Playwatch Kids and ATTN will further enrich the platform’s offerings with educational and empowering animation shows and documentaries featuring culturally diverse characters.

Commenting on the collaboration, Playwatch owner Jimmy Jenkins expressed excitement about the historic moment and the profound impact BLKFAM will have on families worldwide.

BLKFAM is currently accessible on various platforms, including iOS, Android, Amazon Prime Video Channels, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube TV, Samsung Smart TVs, Vizio, and LG, ensuring widespread accessibility for audiences eager to engage with its diverse content lineup.
