Pinky Cole Hayes, the dynamic force behind brands like Slutty Vegan, American SESH, and Bar Vegan, is on a mission to empower creatives and inspire the masses.
Recently appointed as REVOLT’s first-ever creative visionary in residence, Pinky is dedicated to amplifying Black voices and collaborating with like-minded innovators to bring fresh, dynamic projects to life.
In an exclusive interview with REVOLT Associate Managing Editor Sukii Osborne, Pinky shared her excitement about joining the REVOLT family.
“As someone deeply committed to challenging norms and amplifying Black voices, this is an incredible opportunity,” she said.
Her journey with REVOLT began through previous collaborations, where she quickly recognized the brand’s potential to support her vision.
Pinky defines a true creative as a problem solver, someone who can identify challenges and innovate solutions in real time.
“I come up with a thousand ideas and first look at all the ways they could go wrong, so I can solve them and manifest a billion-dollar brand,” she explained, referencing her success with Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan.
In her new role, she aims to foster a variety of projects that elevate indie artists and showcase ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
“We’re talking brunches, award shows, and content that amplifies rising talents,” she said, reiterating her commitment to fresh perspectives and community engagement.
Reflecting on the challenges of entrepreneurship, Pinky admitted:
“Every day is a boundary. Entrepreneurship is tough, but I use those lessons to inspire others.”
Her advice for future visionaries includes reading extensively, connecting with knowledgeable mentors, and eliminating negativity from their lives.
Pinky’s brands stand out for their unparalleled hospitality.
“I care more about hospitality than how the food tastes,” she stated. “I want people to feel safe and welcomed, regardless of who they are or how much they make.”
This focus on creating a positive experience is a cornerstone of her success.
Motherhood has also shaped her approach to business. “It has made me more patient and allowed me to transfer those skills into my work,” she shared, emphasizing the importance of patience in both parenting and entrepreneurship.
For those struggling to tap into their creativity, Pinky stresses the importance of authenticity: “Use social media to show the behind-the-scenes of what you’re building. Be yourself, and a community will support you.”
Pinky encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to view setbacks as fuel for their drive. “When people tell you no, go harder,” she advises. “Negative energy can be the motivation you need to push through challenges and achieve greatness.”
Her ultimate goal? To inspire a legacy known as “The Pinky Effect,” where anything she touches thrives and empowers others to do the same. As she embarks on this exciting chapter with REVOLT, Pinky Cole Hayes is poised to make waves and uplift the next generation of creators.
