Actress Viola Davis has responded to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s statement on Sunday that he believes Vice President Kamala Harris will be easier to defeat in November than Democratic President Joe Biden.
Joe Biden’s reelection campaign ended after fellow Democrats lost faith in his mental acuity and ability to defeat Trump. After stepping down, he endorsed Kamala Harris to succeed him as the party’s candidate.
Trump dismissed Harris’s potential presidential run, saying she would be an easy target in the 2024 election.
“Harris will be easier to beat than Joe Biden would have been,” Trump told CNN.
His remarks quickly drew attention, eliciting responses from both supporters and detractors. One of the most notable responses was from Tina Knowles and Viola Davis. Both influential women took to social media to express their unwavering support for the Vice President.
Viola Davis commented strongly on Tina Knowles’s post addressing former President Trump’s comments about Kamala Harris’s presidential bid.
“It ends NOW!! We are and will protect, honor, define ourselves! SHE is worthy! With every fiber of my being… I STAND WITH HER!!!✊🏿✊🏿❤️❤️❤️”
Viola Davis also took to her own page to show her support for Kamala Harris.
“What people want is simple. They want America to be as good as its promise. I’m with her!” Davis captioned a photo of President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris while rewriting Harris’s acceptance speech.
“On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. I am honored to have the President’s endorsement, and I intend to earn and win this nomination. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda. Davis’s response demonstrates Harris’s widespread support among influential figures in Hollywood and beyond.
Harris is set to become the first female Vice President of the United States and has inspired many through her historic accomplishments and dedication to public service.
Her potential presidential candidacy is already generating significant interest and support from various sources.
