Halle Bailey, the star of “The Little Mermaid,” has reportedly been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, rapper DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry), after detailing shocking allegations of physical abuse.

The court documents, obtained by PEOPLE, paint a disturbing picture, and Halle even included photos of alleged injuries as evidence.

The temporary restraining order, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, mandates that DDG, 27, must stay over 100 yards away from Halle, 25, and their young son, Halo Saint Granberry, who was born just last December. This protective order extends to Halo’s school and Halle’s vehicle, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. Halle and DDG, who began their relationship in 2022, reportedly called it quits in 2024.

According to the court documents, Halle detailed multiple alleged incidents of abuse, with specific instances dating back to January 2025. In her own words, Halle wrote, “I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer.”

The allegations against DDG are deeply troubling. Halle claims he frequently subjected her to verbal abuse, often using derogatory terms like “a bitch” or “evil,” even in front of their two-year-old son. “Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans,” Halle stated in her declaration.

She further explained how he allegedly falsely accused her of withholding their son and being with other men, leading to a barrage of threats and hate on social media directed at her. Halle believes he intentionally stirs up drama for his fanbase, going “live” to rant about her and falsely claiming she’s keeping Halo from him, something she vehemently denies, stating she has requested a set schedule he refuses to adhere to.

The situation reportedly escalated to the point where Halle filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department in March. She claims that DDG entered her home after she explicitly warned him that she and Halo were sick with RSV and that their son couldn’t leave the house. In response, DDG allegedly unleashed a tirade of profanities at Halle, damaged her Ring camera, and attempted to take their child without her consent.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Halle’s request for a restraining order included photographic evidence of the alleged abuse. These images reportedly show a chipped front tooth and a significant bruise on her bicep from an earlier alleged incident. An alleged text message was also submitted as evidence, revealing Halle spending Mother’s Day in St. Lucia with her sister, Chloe Bailey, despite DDG allegedly accusing her of being there with another man. Her text to him read, “Darryl, are u not tired of harassing me? You make up a new lie about me every day. I’m in St Lucia having fun with Shermay and Chloe. Not with any man out here. I wouldn’t do that. I have Halo. I told ur mom I was gonna be with my sister last week. Please let me enjoy my Mother’s Day in peace. I hope you are okay and feel better soon. “

Halle is now seeking custody of Halo while she films a project in Italy for two months, starting on June 7. She assured the court that she will have family and a nanny traveling with her to care for their son during this time. Furthermore, she has requested a cease and desist order to prevent DDG from posting or streaming about her and Halo on any platform, citing the “fan frenzy” and threats she receives due to his alleged false claims. Halle expressed feeling afraid for her life and Halo’s safety, noting the disturbing online slogan “#freehalo.”

In a move towards accountability, Halle has also asked the judge to order DDG to attend a 52-week Batterer Intervention Program and provide proof of completion. A court hearing in this case is scheduled for June 4.

This is a developing story, and our hearts go out to Halle and her son during this difficult time. It takes immense courage to come forward with such allegations, and we hope Halle receives the support and protection she needs.
