Black Women Own 2024 Grammy Nominations: SZA Leads With 9 From SOS Album – See Full List

by Grace Somes

This year’s Grammy nomination list is female-dominated, with SZA and Victoria Monét leading the way with nine and seven nominations, respectively.

SZA, a one-time Grammy winner, scored the most nominations with songs for her SOS album SOS. The singer also secured a spot in the Record of the Year category with her hit song “Kill Bill”, competing with Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste, boygenius, Victoria Monét, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift.

Victoria Monét follows closely with seven nominations, contending with Ice Spice in the Best New Artiste category.

Ice Spice makes her first Grammy appearance with nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rap Song for her collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Barbie World,” off the Barbie: The Album soundtrack.

Ayra Starr and Tyla bring fierce competition at Best African Music Performance against African giants like Burna Boy, Asake, and Davido.
